“EYE OF THE STORM” — MIXED-MEDIA BY GRECHEN SPOTTKE
FINAL PIECE FROM “RECOVERY I” SERIES — 100% of the proceeds from the auction of this piece will be donated to the Road Recovery organization.
DESCRIPTION: This is the final piece from Grechen’s first “Recovery” Series. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction of this piece will go to the Road Recovery organization.
“Eye of the Storm” represents what Grechen and her family have gone through in their walk through the recovery process. This pieces title is, “the best example I can give to convey what it’s like going through rough times with a loved one. To them, everything calm in their eyes (especially if they are in denial about using). But, everything around them is unsettled.”
Grechen goes on to not—sometimes you know where things are headed and other times you are caught off guard and need to completely change your course. It’s all about learning how to make the best decision you can, in that moment, with the info you have. That’s all we can do. And if we make a bad call, learn, dust off, move on, and hopefully don’t repeat it. It’s about being persistent through any storm in life and never giving up. I know we will get through this and I will continue to love no matter what. #dontgiveupcampaign
